An NFPA 241 Plan is a set of guidelines for preventing or minimizing fire damage to buildings during construction, renovation, or demolition. This plan ensures the safety of people and property by establishing responsibilities for all parties involved. Whether you're a developer or general contractor, Willow Fire Protection, LLC will assist you in creating your 241 Plan.

Our team will critique the Tier I design (whether provided by us or another company) and we'll perform hydraulic calculations to determine pipe and valve sizing. With a Tier II set (also known as "permit drawings") you will receive accurate Fire Sprinkler plans and hydraulic calculations (both stamped by a Fire Protection Engineer). Willow Fire Protection will also provide a bulk material list for your convenience. 

Our team will create a basic Fire Sprinkler plan, an initial construction control document (Initial Affidavit) and a Fire Protection Narrative. These items will be stamped by a Fire Protection Engineer and will aid YOU in getting your building permit with the local Authority having Jurisdiction. By providing you with a Tier I design, Willow Fire Protection, LLC is considered the Engineer of Record. (Note that a Tier I set does not include hydraulic calculations)

Coordination is a vital process during the Tier II fire sprinkler design. It assures that the sprinkler system to be installed will not be obstructed by HVAC, lighting, etc. By coordinating the sprinkler system design with the structure and other trades, your installation will go faster, smoother and in the end, cost you less money!

A hydrant flow test is required when a Tier II design is underway. This test is scheduled with the local water department or DPW. Our team will meet the local representative on site to flow and gauge the fire hydrants to determine the local water pressure that will ultimately determine your pipe size and valving sizes. 

A Tier II design, also known as "as-builts" can be provided to you after the sprinkler system has been fully installed and is ready for a final inspection. We will take the Tier II print and verify that things have been installed according to pland OR we will revise the plan to match the layout on site. Along with your Tier III design, we will also provide a Final Construction Control Document (final affidavit).
